General Experience Martin has been working as a teacher and academic manager for over 25 years, and has considerable and very broad experience of the ELT industry. He taught in Spain for nine years, owning his own school at one point and also getting his first Director of Studies position there. His work in academic management has continued throughout his career, and he has worked as Director of Studies in two very large and prestigious language schools in the UK as well as having worked in a consultancy capacity for another major ELT provider. He has also had many years of teacher training experience. He currently works part-time from home recruiting teachers for six summer residential centres in various parts of the UK, and combines this with his teacher training work and online teaching. He thoroughly enjoys his teaching and believes the exciting new medium of online teaching is the way forward for those with busy lifestyles who cannot afford the time to visit the UK on the more traditional language stays. Martin now lives with his Japanese wife in a small hamlet in the Devonshire countryside and enjoys an active, but relaxing lifestyle.
